Stinking Hellebore, Dungwort, Bear's Foot Evergreen foliage varies from bright green to deep green, nearly slate in color, produces multitudes of bell-shaped yellow-green blooms often with a purple edge. The pale green bracts and blooms increase the plant's height to 30-32 in. This helleborus prefers woodland conditions with deep, fertile, moist, humus rich, well-drained soil and dappled shade. Despite its common names, this hellebore does not have a noticeable bad odor. However, it is toxic if eaten. Zones 5-8
